The Holmes County Blue Devils won the last time they faced the Bethlehem Wildcats, and things went their way on Monday too. Holmes County came out on top against Bethlehem by a score of 49-42. Given Holmes County's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Bethlehem is ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Savannah Goodman, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emma Whitaker, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Bethlehem lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Madison Williams, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Paul, who scored ten points.
Holmes County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Bethlehem, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Holmes County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chipley at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Chipley will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Bethlehem will take on Paxton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Paxton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Thursday.
