Riverside is 8-1 against the Angels since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Riverside Rangers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Loretto Angels at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverside has 27 straight victories, the Angels have seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Riverside put the finishing touches on their 19th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clint 78-41 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-16.
Riverside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophiya Bustillos, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 6 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bustillos has scored all season. Hazel Veloz was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Loretto had to suffer through a rough 67-35 loss at the hands of the Lions. Loretto was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-18.
Riverside pushed their record up to 29-1 with that win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.5 points. As for Loretto, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
Everything came up roses for Riverside against the Angels in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 74-23 victory. With Riverside ahead 35-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
