The East Hampton Bellringers will face off against the Morgan Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games East Hampton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
East Hampton might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-1 to Bolton, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Colton Chrin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
In other pitching news, East Hampton got a good showing from Evan Wagner, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Meanwhile, Morgan posted their closest victory since April 14th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Portland, sneaking past 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.
Morgan also got a great performance from Jacoby Brown as he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. Brown has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Benji Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Julian Larabee was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
Morgan's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for East Hampton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
East Hampton suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Morgan in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Bellringers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
