Baseball Recap: South Central's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Princeton last Friday, South Central came back down to earth. The Falcons fell 11-8 to the D.H. Conley Vikings on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Falcons, who until this contest were averaging 3.08 runs allowed.

South Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colby Jones, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI. Isaiah James also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

With the defeat, South Central broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. As for D.H. Conley, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Central will venture away from home to square off against Hunt at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for D.H. Conley, they are taking a road trip to challenge Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
