Live Oak had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the St. Charles Catholic Comets as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Zant Gurney looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last five matches.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brock Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in doubles. Brayden Allen was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Live Oak's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for St. Charles Catholic, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Live Oak will square off against East Ascension at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Live Oak's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so East Ascension's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Charles Catholic, they will take on Destrehan at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
