The Hamilton Aggies waltzed into their match Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Marion County out 64-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Marion County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joe Aldridge, who scored 21 points along with four steals. The match was Aldridge's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tye Madison, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Hamilton's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Marion County, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.
Hamilton will be home for the holidays to greet Haleyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Haleyville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Hamilton is ranked 97th). Marion County will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Lynn at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th.
