The Pueblo West Cyclones won against the Pueblo Central Wildcats  last Tuesday with 62  points and they decided to stick to that  point total again  on Thursday. Pueblo West skirted past Pueblo Central  62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
 Pueblo West's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Logan Montgomery, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 23 points and nine  rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Montgomery has scored all season.  Andrew Trujillo was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on 11 points and 18  rebounds.
 When it comes to explaining why Pueblo Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Xavier Davis. Despite the final result, he  dropped  a double-double on 12 points and 12  rebounds. Davis is crushing the  rebound category: he's  posted at least eight every time he's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Darrin Hemphill, who  scored 16 points.
 Pueblo West is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record  this season. As for Pueblo Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
 Pueblo West will be playing at home against Pueblo East at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. Pueblo West knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Pueblo East likes a good challenge. As for Pueblo Central, they will be playing at home against Pueblo County at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. Pueblo Central is coming into the  game with five straight  defeats at home,  meaning Pueblo County will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  victory.
