The Choctaw County Chargers waltzed into Tuesday's game with four straight wins but they left with five. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past McAdams 56-53. For Choctaw County, this counts as revenge for the 76-67 defeat McAdams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Choctaw County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Cunningham out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Cunningham's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakarius Weaver, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Choctaw County has yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-1 record. As for McAdams, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Choctaw County will head out on the road to face off against Noxapater at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Noxapater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Choctaw County is ranked 77th). As for McAdams, they will be playing at home against Philadelphia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Philadelphia and McAdams are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
