Everything came up roses for Wesley Chapel against Gulf last Friday as the team secured a 48-7 win. No one put up better numbers for Wesley Chapel than junior Jelani Vassell, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up at halftime, but Anclote weren't quite Hudson's equal in the second half when they met. Anclote took a 20-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hudson.
Wesley Chapel's victory lifted them to 3-2 while Anclote's loss dropped them down to 0-4. If Wesley Chapel want to win, Wesley Chapel will need to focus on stopping Anclote's senior Ricky Vargas, who picked up 101 yards on the ground and accumulated 120 passing yards, and senior Drew Ferrell, who rushed for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns.
