The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 82-61 margin over Cottonwood. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Sean Felts, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Drake Carroll, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Cottonwood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Rosevear, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Rosevear's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Mason Tolley was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Even though they lost, Cottonwood were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crimson Cliffs only racked up 22 assists.
The win got Crimson Cliffs back to even at 5-5. As for Cottonwood, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-5.
Crimson Cliffs and Dixie will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Kyle Lemke and Felts. Cottonwood is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
