Highland has gone 8-1-1 against Shafter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Scots will look to defend their home field against the Generals at 4:00 p.m. Highland's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Shafter's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Highland will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Centennial, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Scots walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Golden Hawks on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Scots as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lilliana Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Highland got a big performance out of Kamilla Baltazar, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Baltazar has posted over her last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Rodriquez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Highland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Shafter was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 11-1 to Centennial.
Shafter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marley Munoz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
The victory got Highland back to even at 5-5-1. As for Shafter, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Highland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Shafter struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
