It was a good run, but the Paradise Valley Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Centennial. Paradise Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Centennial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Kollie, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Kollie has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Neha Patel was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centennial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Akasha Prpich, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Prpich's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleia Young, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Paradise Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Ironwood the next time they take the court. Paradise Valley will host Ironwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Centennial will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
