Chiles has won three straight games at home, while Niceville has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Chiles Timberwolves will welcome the Niceville Eagles at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Chiles was able to grind out a solid victory over McMinn County, taking the game 5-1.

Colton Corder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Tyler Correa was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Chiles' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Brendan Gereg was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Niceville earned a 9-5 win over Florida State University High School on Wednesday.
Yahir Burgos was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Marquardt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Remington Crum, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Niceville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. Chiles now has a winning record of 7-6.
Chiles took their victory against Niceville when the teams last played back in February of 2022 by a conclusive 10-0. Does Chiles have another victory up their sleeve, or will Niceville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
