Softball Recap: Colton Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Colton extended their winning streak to eight on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 16-3 in the process. They blew past the Eisenhower Eagles 10-1. Considering the Yellowjackets have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

JASMINE DELAROSA made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on STEPHANIE DELACRUZ, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was DESIREE ARMENTA, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Colton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .525. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in eight consecutive games.

As for Eisenhower, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 3.89 runs allowed.

On Eisenhower's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Hamner, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Colton has already played their next matchup, a 14-0 victory against Rialto on the 18th. As for Eisenhower, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-5 win against Bloomington on the 18th.
