Tampa Bay Tech hasn't had much luck against Riverview recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Tampa Bay Tech managed to slip by Freedom the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Tampa Bay Tech came up short against Freedom on Monday, falling 16-5. The Titans' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Tampa Bay Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Gibson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Gibson a new career-high in RBI (three). Joseph Hartman was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, while Riverview put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Blake. Riverview blew past Blake 10-0. Considering the Sharks have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Driston Marino tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Riverview is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7 otherwise.
At the plate, Jan Carlos Rodriguez was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Riverview is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brady Rebello, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
Riverview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Riverview's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Tampa Bay Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
