The Atlantic Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Coconut Creek Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in Atlantic's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten games.
Even though Monsignor Pace scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Atlantic still came out on top. Atlantic snuck past the Spartans with a 63-58 win.
Meanwhile, Coconut Creek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by St. John Paul II Academy 63-25. While losing is never fun, Coconut Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while the Eagles are ranked 219th).
Atlantic's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Coconut Creek, they dropped their record down to 2-18 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.
Atlantic came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cougars when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 58-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Atlantic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
