Zak Anderson and Camron Lempke were among the main playmakers for Chase County as the former went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points and the latter posted 16 points along with five assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave Anderson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was James Bomba, who earned 13 points.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Chase County was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They are 11-5 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, Cozad waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took their game with ease, bagging a 75-31 win over the Whippets. The Haymakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.
Cozad's win came from a few key players Chase County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kellen Shoemaker, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Shoemaker, who scored 11 points and five steals.
Cozad pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.3 points. As for Chase County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Chase County has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Cozad struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Chase County lost to Cozad on the road by a decisive 55-39 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Shoemaker, who went 9-for-14 en route to 22 points and four steals.
