Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brody Hansen, who picked up 221 receiving yards and three scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 112.8 receiving yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Karrson Davis, who threw for 315 yards and three TDs while completing 74.4% of his passes.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Miami, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Catoosa, posting a 56-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wardogs in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.
Fort Gibson better keep an eye on Tyler Martin. He was instrumental in Miami's win, rushing for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries.
Miami was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 369 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Miami's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Fort Gibson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Fort Gibson has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 197.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Miami struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 183.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Fort Gibson couldn't quite finish off Miami when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 16-14. Thankfully for the Tigers, Khyler Walker (who rushed for 236 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
