Baseball Recap: Disney II Has No Trouble Against Steinmetz College Prep

Disney II's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks as they made off with a 13-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Maximus Sanchez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Disney II's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-1 (and 0-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Disney II let Marcus Grier and Cesar Urquieta run wild. Grier got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Urquieta got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Urquieta a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Cruz, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Disney II always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Steinmetz College Prep only posted an OBP of .355.

Disney II's record is now 10-11. As for Steinmetz College Prep, their loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-21.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Disney II will face off against Ogden International at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Steinmetz College Prep, they will square off against Bogan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Silver Streaks will need to watch out since the Bengals have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
