Basketball Recap: Summit Academy Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Summit Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 92-85 win over Cobble Hill. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Cobble Hill, too.

Summit Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jasper Meissner, who almost dropped a double-double on 34 points and nine assists. Those 34 points gave Meissner a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Justin Rodriguez, who posted 26 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Summit Academy pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32 points. As for Cobble Hill, they moved to 6-1 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, Summit Academy and Cobble Hill will both be playing Brooklyn Community Arts & Media the next time they take the court. Cobble Hill will head out to face Brooklyn Community Arts & Media at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while Summit Academy will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
