The Summit Christian Academy Eagles lost against the Spirit HomeSchool Warhawks back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Summit Christian Academy received a tough blow as they fell 59-43 to Spirit HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Summit Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while Spirit HomeSchool is ranked 176th).
Don Forrest, Jr. and Ezra Crowder certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Forrest, Jr. scored 11 points along with six steals, while Crowder scored 14 points. Crowder scored a full 32.6% of Summit Christian Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Miller, who scored six points.
Summit Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Spirit HomeSchool, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Summit Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Norfolk Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th. As for Spirit HomeSchool, they will be playing at home against Fredericksburg V at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Fredericksburg V is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
