It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Perry Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Panthers with a 28-24 victory. The win was nothing new for Perry as they're now sitting on five straight.
Perry's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colter Ginn, who threw for 382 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt. Perry also got a significant boost from Ahmad Gordon, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
Perry's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Starr's Mill, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.
Perry will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stockbridge at 4:00 p.m. on December 12th. Stockbridge's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so Perry's offense will have their work cut out for Perry. Starr's Mill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
