Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

First Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 56-39 fall against the Lakeway Christian Academy Lions. The Eagles lost against the Lions in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-22 score last time.

Kami Wilson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lakeway Christian Academy, almost dropping a double-double on 34 points and nine boards. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of Lakeway Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Danielle Sawyer, who posted 13 points and three steals.

First Baptist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lakeway Christian Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7.

When First Baptist Academy and Lakeway Christian Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. First Baptist Academy will try to stop Christian Academy of Knoxville's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Lakeway Christian Academy will try to stop Harriman's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
