The South Bulldogs came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 48-42 win over Africentric Early College. Given South's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Africentric Early College is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Maurice Mccall, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chris Stokes, who scored 11 points.
South pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Africentric Early College, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South will face off against Eastmoor Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Africentric Early College, they will head out on the road to challenge Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Independence comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
