After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bradley, the Lafayette County Cougars were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Blevins by a score of 57-50. This was payback for Lafayette County, who suffered a 68-56 loss the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for JaMaya Davis, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity McKinney, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Lafayette County pushed their record up to 10-12 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Blevins, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Blevins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Umpire comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
