Baseball Recap: Passaic Valley Has No Trouble Against Montclair

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against DePaul Catholic, Passaic Valley was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Montclair Mounties as they made off with an 18-2 win. The game marked the Hornets' most dominant victory of the season.

Mason Condon was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since April 3rd.

In other batting news, Dante Benvenuti was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten matchups. Jake Delaney was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Passaic Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.

Passaic Valley's record is now 11-3. As for Montclair, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, Passaic Valley is taking a road trip to take on West Milford at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Montclair, they will host Montclair Kimberley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
