The Northern York Polar Bears will challenge the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Northern York 2.9, Greencastle-Antrim 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Northern York is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Big Spring a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Polar Bears, who have now won four matches in a row.
The result came thanks to Ambrose Depasqua's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.

On the hitting side, Jacob Yost was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryland Yinger, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three runs.
Northern York hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Greencastle-Antrim has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.79 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 14-1 to Waynesboro. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Devils have suffered against the Indians since April 30, 2022.
Greencastle-Antrim saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter McCauley, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Northern York's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Greencastle-Antrim, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
