The Stafford Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against North Stafford, falling 56-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stafford has scored all season.
North Stafford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Destinee Salgado out in front who scored 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Daysha Salgado, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Stafford's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for North Stafford, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Stafford will head out on the road to face off against Riverbend at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Riverbend focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
