Auburn Riverside's loss came despite strong showings from Leroy Kinnay and Anthony S alperov. Kinnay scored nine points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while S alperov scored six points. That's the first time this season that Kinnay pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Beamer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Will Tellis, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Tellis also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Avion Mclemore, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Auburn Riverside's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Beamer, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Auburn Riverside will take on Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Jefferson is ranked 304th, while Auburn Riverside is ranked 281st). As for Beamer, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Auburn Mountainview at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Auburn Mountainview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Thursday.
