The Overton Mustangs will be home for the holidays to greet the Ore City Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Ore City took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Overton, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Overton strolled past New Summerfield with points to spare, taking the game 50-34. The win made it back-to-back wins for Overton.
It was another big night for Kayla Nobles, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kyauna Bowens-Brown, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Ore City, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They had to suffer through a rough 41-13 loss at the hands of Maud.
Overton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Ore City, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-7.
Overton suffered a grim 58-34 defeat to Ore City when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Can Overton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
