After flying high against the Forrest Rockets last Friday, the Grundy County Yellowjackets came back down to earth. Grundy County fell 59-49 to Cascade on Saturday. It was the first time this season that Grundy County let down their fans at home.
Cascade's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaydence Miller, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Ray, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Grundy County's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4. As for Cascade, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grundy County will face off against Van Buren County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Van Buren County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Cascade, they will head out on the road to challenge Forrest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forrest has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
