The Lewisburg Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Lincoln Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewisburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Lewisburg's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Northside as Lewisburg made off with a 7-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Lewisburg.
Talon Haley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Lewisburg got a great performance from Cooper Bierman as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Bierman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Briley Tubbs was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Lincoln not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 29, 2024. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Mosley. The Trojans have beaten the Dolphins the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dolphins has come to flipping the script.
Like Lewisburg, Lincoln also got a great game from a two-way player: Jayson Parker. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Parker has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Neal Porter, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Bennett Malone also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Lewisburg's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their record is now 8-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lewisburg has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lincoln struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
