This season hasn't been kind to the University Liggett Knights, who are still winless after their fourth game. They fell 61-48 to Plymouth Christian Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, University Liggett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 664th, while Plymouth Christian Academy is ranked 316th).
Plymouth Christian Academy was led to victory by Dylan Beasley and Ray Weber. Beasley scored 20 points along with five rebounds, while Weber scored 17 points along with six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Beasley has scored at least 25% of Plymouth Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Sexton, who scored eight points.
University Liggett's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
University Liggett won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cranbrook Kingswood at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th. Cranbrook Kingswood comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Plymouth Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Detroit Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
