The Bartlesville Bruins will head out on the road to take on the Coweta Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bartlesville is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
On Thursday, Bartlesville was able to grind out a solid win over Booker T. Washington, taking the game 7-2.
Hunter Shea made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Shea was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Damien Niko was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Cooper Swaim also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Bartlesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted in their last ten matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coweta). Everything went their way against Memorial on Tuesday as they made off with a 19-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Like Bartlesville, Coweta also got a great game from a two-way player: Alex Crawford. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Crawford a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Brayden Replogle looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Josh McDermott, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Coweta: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Fankhauser, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Coweta has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Bartlesville, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Bartlesville suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Coweta in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
