A Season-Best Effort from Jimmie Burk Leads Redwood over Porterville
Redwood was led to victory by Jimmie Burk, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Burk rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (111.7). Those 236 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
If history really does repeat itself, Burk might just drop another big game when he faces off against Monache on Friday. Burk rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries the last time he and the Marauders duked it out back in October of 2023.

Najera Posts Huge Game in 48-0 Win
Jayden Najera posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns while completing 95% of his passes, and also rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
The win was the fifth in a row for Golden West, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Najera and Golden West will be playing at home against Porterville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Case Anders was instrumental in extending Golden West's winning streak to five on Friday. Nobody could stop Anders as he rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.

Monache picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to D.J. Shimer. Nobody could stop Shimer as he rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
On the season, Shimer has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 95 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 6.5 rushing yards per game.
