Sulphur has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Madill Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sulphur will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Madill is ranked 21st).
Sulphur won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 72-48 defeat at the hands of Casady. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Sulphur has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Madill waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Eufaula 54-37.
Ethan Wilkerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Wilkerson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Roberts, who scored 14 points.
Sulphur now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Madill, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
Sulphur ended up a good deal behind Madill in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, losing 43-25. Can Sulphur avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
