After flying high against the Columbia Bruins last Thursday, the Castle Rock Rockets came back down to earth. Castle Rock was dealt a 70-31 defeat at the hands of Seton Catholic on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Castle Rock can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Seton Catholic is ranked 87th).
Kelsey Poyner and Laynee Logan certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Poyner scored nine points along with seven rebounds, while Logan scored 13 points.
Castle Rock's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-8. As for Seton Catholic, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castle Rock will take on Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seton Catholic, they will play host again and welcome King's Way Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. King's Way Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
