Grace Baptist Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Berean Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
On December 11th, Grace Baptist Academy suffered a rough 60-36 defeat at the hands of Berean Academy. While losing is never fun, Grace Baptist Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Berean Academy is ranked 118th).
Berean Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 34 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 74-31 victory over Knoxville Christian at home. Winning may never get old, but Berean Christian sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Deonte Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six assists and four steals. The game was his 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Copeland, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Grace Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Berean Christian, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
