The Perry Yellowjackets pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Morris. Perry has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mount Morris' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Santini led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Santini also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Bryson Constantino was another key contributor, scoring 23 points.
Perry's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-10. As for Mount Morris, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Warsaw at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Warsaw and Perry are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. Mount Morris' road trip will continue as they head out to face Hinsdale Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hinsdale Central is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
