The Richmond Christian Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Richmond Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Richmond Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Thursday. They breezed by Cristo Rey at home to the tune of 65-25. Richmond Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Kailah Carter, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Richmond Christian's points. Morgan Trimble was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Norfolk Collegiate beat Cape Henry Collegiate 33-26 on Thursday. The victory was just what Norfolk Collegiate needed coming off of a 95-18 loss in their prior matchup.
Richmond Christian pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31 points. As for Norfolk Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Richmond Christian beat Norfolk Collegiate 46-34 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richmond Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
