Trenton Catholic Academy's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They managed a 64-59 win over Westampton Tech. Given Trenton Catholic Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Panthers are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Westampton Tech saw an underclassman step up: Henry Njoga dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Njoga scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daelan Dickerson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Trenton Catholic Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Westampton Tech, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Trenton Catholic Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Jaguars at 5:15 p.m. Medford Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the likes a good challenge. Westampton Tech is on the road again on Friday and plays the Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
