The Acalanes Dons had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 72-50 margin over Mt. Diablo. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-11.
Liam Krackeler was a one-man wrecking crew for Acalanes as he shot 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krackeler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Brown, who scored four points along with ten assists and five steals.
Acalanes' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-18. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-22.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Acalanes will take on the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Las Lomas and the Dons are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Mt. Diablo, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bears at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Concord is ranked 1005th, while the Red Devils are ranked 1020th).
