Even though the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Franklin County Seahawks still came out on top. Franklin County snuck past North Bay Haven Academy with a 59-55 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Franklin County also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
It was another big night for Lonnie O'Neal, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. He set a new season high mark in blocks with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Kembro, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Franklin County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they bumped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin County will stay at home for another game and welcome Community Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. North Bay Haven Academy will take on Mosley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mosley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Bay Haven Academy in Florida (Mosley is ranked 219th, while North Bay Haven Academy is ranked 689th).
