After losing to the Brevard Blue Devils the last time they met, the R-S Central Hilltoppers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. R-S Central walked away with a 43-36 victory over the Blue Devils on Tuesday.
R-S Central found their leader in underclassman A'laila Flack, who scored 22 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Flack has scored at least a third of R-S Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nykeria Petty, who scored 11 points.
R-S Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Brevard, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home.
R-S Central will take on the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Polk County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hilltoppers in North Carolina (the Wolverines are ranked 235th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 474th). As for Brevard, they will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Asheville Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Tuesday.
