Robbinsville will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Maple Shade at 7:00 PM. Both teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
Robbinsville had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 20-47 punch to the gut against Gloucester Catholic last week. Robbinsville got a solid performance out of junior Dan Surtz, who picked up 102 yards on the ground and threw 2 TDs; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
Meanwhile, Maple Shade couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Pleasantville, falling 0-54.
Given their recent losses, both teams have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
