Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Classical Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Owen Stuckey and Ethan Cork

Gilbert Classical Academy lost against Gilbert Christian back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Knights. The Spartans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Gilbert Classical Academy took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-22, 26-24.

Despite the loss, Gilbert Classical Academy had strong showings from Ethan Cork, who had 11 digs, and Owen Stuckey, who had seven digs and two aces. Cork has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times he's played.

Among those leading the charge was Talon Heafey, who had 13 digs. Luke Warren also deserves some recognition as he had his first digs of the season.

Gilbert Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Gilbert Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-10.

Gilbert Classical Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against San Tan Charter on the 1st. As for Gilbert Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against ALA - Anthem South on the 1st.
