After a string of six wins, the GVCS Broadfording Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 42-33 to Shalom Christian Academy. GVCS Broadfording was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Shalom Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Shalom Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Adams, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chloe Martin, who scored 12 points.
GVCS Broadfording's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Shalom Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
GVCS Broadfording on the road again on Thursday and play against Musselman at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Musselman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than GVCS Broadfording in their respective states (Musselman is ranked 28th in West Virginia, while GVCS Broadfording is ranked 103rd in Maryland). As for Shalom Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Faith Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m.
