The Simmons Blue Devils extended their postseason success on Friday against the Sacred Heart Crusaders. They breezed by the Crusaders on the road to the tune of 56-21. Winning may never get old, but Simmons sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Leading Simmons to victory were Eddie George and Prentavis Madison. George rushed for 219 yards and a touchdown while picking up 13.7 yards per carry, while Madison rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Madison hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Despite the loss, Sacred Heart still got an impressive performance from Dj Booth, who rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Booth has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played.
Simmons' victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Sacred Heart, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Simmons will face off against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Taylorsville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Sacred Heart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
