Corona was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They took  a  37-21 bruising from the Santiago Sharks. The  matchup was a  21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.
 William Hitchcock threw for 70 yards  on three of 17 attempts.   Benjamin Campusano was his top target, picking up 104 receiving yards and one  score.  On the ground,  Angel Heredia rushed for 137 yards and a pair of  TDs.
 Santiago got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Clayton Plewe out in front who threw for 343 yards and four  touchdowns. Those  four  passing touchdowns gave  Plewe a new career-high.  Isaiah Hughes was  Plewe's top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs, while also rushing for 34 yards.
Corona now  has a losing record of 4-5. As for Santiago,  with the  victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-4.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Corona will  take on  rival Temecula Valley  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Santiago is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Murrieta Mesa  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 985 yards in their previous games.
