Ashton Cardinal made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bremen is undefeated when Cardinal allows two or fewer hits, but 4-7 otherwise. Cardinal was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Jose Hernandez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Niko Gonzalez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Bremen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.7 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 13.
Longwood kicked off their season on the road two weeks ago and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against Agricultural Science, falling 7-0.
